Nothing to See Here

The Eurekas had just a single sub

Well, this wasn’t the best night ever

Our 10:00 game was between the Osprey and Tigers and the Tigers took the early lead when their first shot on net, a nice pass from Ron Beaton in front to George Murray, wa fired through the five-hole of Matt Baird in the Osprey goal.

The Osprey are a resilient team however and Ethan DeBruyn danced a few Tigers before throwing a shot hard at the net past the blocker of Nick Comeau to level the score.  Matt Ryder had some dangles of his own that he finished off through the legs of Comeau before getting dropped like a sack of bricks as he scored.

The Osprey didn't look back.  DeBruyn would add two more to complete the hatty, including one off his skate and in, and Taylor McKay and Bobby Sacre would add goals as the Osprey took the 6-1 win.

On rink C, after a scare with a broken down Zamboni (this better not become a habit), we had the Evergreens taking on the Eurekas, or at least a handful of Eurekas.  Only 6 players showed up to the game and only 2 Evergreens didn't.  It was destined to be a long night.

The Evergreens scored early and often, but despite the scoring, Ashton Speight still played  an incredible game in the Eurekas net, and his team spent much more time in the Evergreens zone than they had any business doing.  Matt Peters would pick up 3 goals and an assist, and that assist was on Connor MacPherson's goal on a 2 on 0, after which Jonny Prall, having given up the goal, got up and hugged MacPherson.  The two of them packaged together for the summer season.

I won't go into any real details on the Evergreens goals, but it was a points night for the Evergreens.  Landon Miron's 7 point night vaulted him into first place in league scoring, and James Harrison had 4 goals, and Carter Nickerson 3.  You can click on the results to see all the details.  The final score was a lot to not a lot.  3 points to the Evergreens.

Despite the Evergreens winning by eleven, they still remain behind the Osprey in goals for/against.

The Osprey and Evergreens wins have them still tied for the league lead with 15 points and only the Aurora can get close in the remaining games this week as a win will bring them to 14.
