All-Star Selections
2024-12-22All Stars
In the lead up to Christmas, we decided that the Nomad Hockey League All-Stars should get named to spread a little holiday cheer.
Our First-Team All-Stars include zero surprises. These 8 players are all having great seasons so far and we can't see any arguments for having these guys suiting up.
We then dropped a surprise yesterday, naming 8 Second Team All-Stars. These players are just as deserving of a spot in the game, and we are excited to have everyone.
Aurora
Matt Simpson is currently 6th in league scoring with 23 points, and he leads the league in Power-Play Goals and is the primary driver of offense for the Aurora.
Travis Hatcher is a Nomad rookie and has been proving himself to be a top shut down defenceman who is smart with the puck.
Eurekas
Jordan Kenny is one of the league's top defencemen. He's known as a guy who is difficult to play against as he is always strong on the puck and strong on the body. He had 2 goals and 2 assists in his 8 games played so far this season.
Connor MacPherson leads the Eurekas in points and has factored in on almost 50% of his team's goals. He works hard every shift and is a guy who can seemingly play with anyone
Evergreens
Landon Miron leads the league in goals, points, shorthanded goals, and game winners. That should cover it.
Brock Bethune is a grinder, he is the guy who makes all those good plays which result in goals but often don't show up in the game sheet. His 13 points have him 5th on the Evergreens but would be enough to lead 3 other teams in the league.
Greyhounds
Derick Levesque is one of, if not the, best defender in the league. When he is on, he's unstoppable. He won the hardest shot competition last year and will look to defend that title this year.
Nick Marshall leads the Greyhounds in points. He is known as a goal scorer but has been racking up the apples this season.
Lions
Jamie Richard leads the Lions in goals and points. The offense has been running through him this season. He has been on fire for the Lions and will look to continue that into the new year.
Joey Richard is a defensive wall for the Lions and won our inaugural hardest shot competition, and will be looking to regain that title.
Norsemen
Connor Tousignant is currently 3rd in the league in scoring and leading the Norsemen with 13 goals and 15 assists. Connor can reach the crease from the blue line.
Michael Bourgeois is your ultimate utility player. You can never count Bourgeois out of a play, he works the whole ice and can play forward or defense, you name it. Bourgeois’ 10 assists has him tied for 8th in the league in that category.
Osprey
Matt Ryder is a cheat code. He is in second in goals and points, and tied for third in assists. He averages about 3 points per game and seems to be one of the few wizards at Hogwarts to have learned the spell for the magnet stick as the puck just always seems to find its way back to him.
Bobby Sacre made the team because he usually drives Ryder and we didn’t want Matt to miss the game.
Tigers
Ron Beaton came to play this season. His 13 points lead the Tigers and at just over halfway through the season, he has already beaten his season total from last season.
Dan Keays is a freight train of a rushing defenceman. When Keays winds it up, he’s difficult to stop. His 7 goals are tied with Ron Beaton for the Tigers team lead, and only 10 players in the league have score more often than them.
For the remainder of All-Star spots, we will be asking our current players to place their votes, so keep an eye out for an email in the coming days. You will have one vote, so make sure it's a good one.
