Blake Isenor and the Cursed Jersey

Blake Isenor rocking the jersey of defeat
Blake wore a jersey from a soon to be defunct league and it cost his team the win.
Tuesday’s first matchup was between the Greyhounds and Norsemen. The latter of which was missing their regular goalie, so captain Blake Isenor threw on the gear, looking to get his first goalie win of the season. He would get a little help early on. James Harrison went down in front of the net, losing the puck and the Greyhounds accidentally cleared it to the side of the goal, but didn’t realize Nick Marshall was sitting there and he had an open net to shoot at. 1-0 Norsemen just over a minute in.
Greg Delano showed some patience, out-waiting Blake Isenor and then flipping in a backhander to tie the game up. Landon Miron, for the second game in a row, was given a pass by the Zamboni door. He was just in front minding his own business, directing traffic, when the Jeff Miles dump in popped off the side of the net and right to him, giving him a chance to shoot before Logan was ready. The Norsemen were back on top, 2-1.
Ashley Leonard picked off a neutral zone pass, gave it to Bryan Gillis who one touched it to Greg Delano and Greg, at the end of a long shift, put the puck top corner over the blocker of Isenor. Back to level 2-2, just 80 seconds after the Norsemen took the lead.
Chad Hasegawa and Mat McLeod had a little mixup and were sent to the box to have a vacation and play carried on with the Greyhounds on the power play. James Harrison nearly had a short handed goal when Landon fed him a puck he turned over and back up ice the play went with Greg Delano trying Isenor 5-hole. Blake made the save but Robin Gareau came in acting like the puck had squeaked through as he slid to the goal line, so Isenor turned and actually did release the puck. Drew LeFrank nearly got a goal on the play, but Blake stuck the pad out just in time.
Nick Marshall sniped top left and the Norsemen were on top 3-2 with 6. Inures left in the first, which is where the score would stay until the see saw battle continued in the second.
Picking the puck up in his own end, Drew LeFrank carried the mail all the way to the Norsemen goal, and then at the last second, he dropped the puck to Connor MacPherson. Connor made no mistake and best the blocker of Isenor to tie the game at 3.
So this is where the controversy begins. A shot from Landon Miron goes off the pad of Logan, off the post and crossbar, then back off the back of a Logan and goes across the line… or does it? An argument could be made that Greyhounds defender Nick Roache cleared the puck off the line, but that wasn’t how the refs saw it, so 4-3 Norsemen but still 8:14 to play.
The Greyhounds couldn’t do it, they couldn’t find the goal they needed to pull even once more, and James Harrison sealed the deal with an empty netter. The Norsemen prevailed 5-3.
